Captain Jeanne E. Ferrer is a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish and a trailblazer in the maritime and supply chain sectors. With nearly 20 years of experience, she serves as a Crescent River Port Pilot and as commissioner for both the Port of New Orleans and the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad. She also supports national security as a Strategic Sealift Officer in the U.S. Navy and holds high-level licensure, including a Master Unlimited License. Honored as a Wave Maker of the Year and listed among the New Orleans 500, Capt. Ferrer champions innovation while mentoring future industry professionals. She actively contributes to organizations like Open Waters Louisiana, Women Offshore, Women in Maritime Operations, and she serves on the advisory board for We Work the Waterways.
