Student, Jenea, from Baton Rouge Maritime Interaction Day Event Shares the Importance of an Elevator Pitch

There’s impact around every corner at our Maritime Interaction Days!

During our Maritime Interaction Day in Baton Rouge, Jenea, a student at Helix Academy, learned how to confidently introduce herself at our Elevator Pitch station. Later that same day, she struck up a conversation with industry leaders and recited her elevator pitch so confidently that they assumed she’d been practicing it at school.

Her response?

“I learned that here today. The Elevator Pitch station gave me the confidence to introduce myself and recite my elevator pitch.”

A few months later, Jenea came back, not as a participant, but as a mentor herself. She helped younger students at a separate event, partnering with the WWW team, to build the very same confidence she gained that day from industry professionals.
