Cargo/Stowage Planner

Plans the safe and efficient loading, unloading, and placement of cargo aboard vessels to maximize capacity, maintain vessel stability, and meet operational requirements.

Salary Range

$60,000 – $120,000/year

Daily Pay Range

$230 – $460/day

Minimum Education

High School Diploma or GED (Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred)

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop vessel stowage plans
  • Calculate cargo distribution and vessel stability
  • Coordinate with terminal operators and vessel crews
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and cargo segregation requirements
  • Optimize cargo capacity and turnaround times
  • Resolve loading and operational issues
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or higher education
  • Knowledge of vessel stability and cargo operations
  • Experience with stowage planning software
  • Strong math and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of maritime regulations and dangerous goods requirements
