Waterways Move America

Celebrating 250 Years of Connections
2026 Photo Contest

We Work the Waterways, Waterways Council Inc. and The Waterways Journal are teaming up again for a 2026 Photo Contest!

For 250 years, America’s waterways have connected our nation—moving commerce, shaping communities, inspiring adventure and creating opportunity. From breathtaking river landscapes and iconic bridges to hardworking vessels, vibrant waterfronts, wildlife and the people whose lives are intertwined with our rivers, America’s waterways tell the story of our nation.

As we continue celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, we invite photographers of all skill levels to capture the beauty, purpose and spirit of our waterways. Through your lens, show us how our waterways move you.

Grab your camera and capture photos of the people, places and patriotism displayed every day on our nation’s rivers! Submit photos now until October 9!
