Making Waves Supporters

What better way to end Summer ’26 but with a Staff and Executive Board member retreat?!
We Work the Waterways recently brought together our staff and executive board members for a retreat focused on brainstorming and strategizing about what’s next for our organization and our mission.
Our retreat provided an opportunity to step back from the day-to-day and focus on the future of We Work the Waterways. Together, our team and board shared ideas, discussed new opportunities, and explored ways we can continue connecting students and career seekers with the many possibilities within the maritime industry.
As part of the retreat, our staff also had the opportunity to get an up-close look at one of the Gulf Coast’s busiest maritime hubs. During our visit to the Port of Gulfport, we learned more about the port’s imports, exports, and day-to-day operations, giving our team more valuable insight into the work happening within the maritime industry.
Nonprofits like ours don’t run on staff alone. We’re grateful for the industry leaders who volunteer their time, expertise, and passion to help guide our direction. Together, we work toward an even stronger future for We Work the Waterways.
